During this 7-day, 6-night tour, you will explore many incredible sites in Morocco. The journey begins with a visit to Meknes, the Ismaili capital, followed by the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. You’ll also experience the charm of the blue city of Chefchaouen.
Continue your adventure by visiting the highlights of Rabat, the capital, as well as the vibrant cities of Casablanca and Marrakech. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains and traverse the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the film studios in Ouarzazate, and the dramatic Todra Gorges.
Day 1: Fes – Meknes – Volubilis – Chefchaouen
Begin your 7-day Morocco tour with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. Depart for Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Explore key sites, including Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. After free time for lunch, travel 30 km to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved mosaics, pillars, and archways.
Continue north through Ouazzane to reach Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Known as the “Blue City,” Chefchaouen is famous for its blue-painted buildings and alleyways. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 2: Chefchaouen – Rabat
After breakfast, explore the charming blue streets of Chefchaouen at your leisure. Then, drive through the scenic Rif Mountains to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and its current capital. Located in northwest Morocco on the Atlantic coast, Rabat offers many highlights, including the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 3: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech
After breakfast, depart Rabat and drive along the coastline to Casablanca, Morocco’s economic hub and largest city. Visit the iconic Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest mosque in Africa, and stroll along the Casablanca Corniche. Then, journey inland to Marrakech, the “Red City” and another imperial city. Explore the bustling Jemaa El-Fnaa square at your leisure. Overnight stay in a hotel or Riad.
Day 4: Marrakech Guided Tour
Enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking on a guided tour of Marrakech’s highlights. Discover the exquisite Bahia Palace, the historic Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Madrasa. Wander through Morocco’s largest traditional souk and have free time for lunch near Jemaa El-Fnaa. Later, visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest mosque in Marrakech, and the serene Majorelle Garden. Return to your accommodation and enjoy the evening at Jemaa El-Fnaa.
Day 5: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
Begin your day with an early morning departure from Marrakech. Travel through the stunning High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Visit the renowned Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in numerous films and TV shows like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
Day 6: Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara
After breakfast, visit one of Ouarzazate’s famous film studios before continuing to the Rose Valley. In May, the annual Rose Festival celebrates local rose products. Next, explore the dramatic Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a stunning red cliff-sided canyon. After appreciating the natural beauty, travel through Touroug, Tinjdad, and Erfoud to reach the Merzouga Sahara Desert.
Embark on a camel trek across the sandy desert, pausing atop a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Arrive at a luxury desert camp, where you can savor Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under a starlit sky. Dinner and overnight stay in the desert camp.
Day 7: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes
On the final day, wake up early to witness the spectacular sunrise in the desert. After breakfast, return by camel to Merzouga, where your driver awaits. Depart the desert for a visit to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a lively trading center with a bustling souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Continue to Erfoud and visit a fossilized marble workshop before driving along the scenic Ziz River. Stop for lunch in Midelt and then journey to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them as you explore the forest. Visit Ifrane, known for its alpine-style architecture and nickname “Switzerland of Morocco,” before concluding your tour in Fes. Drop-off at the airport or your accommodation marks the end of your adventure.
