5-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca: In these 5 days and 4 nights, you will explore incredible places across Morocco. The tour begins with a visit to Casablanca, followed by the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis and Meknes, the Ismaili capital. You’ll also explore Fes, Morocco’s cultural heart.
As you journey south, you’ll visit Ifrane, the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and the beautiful Cedar Forest. The tour includes a stop in Midelt, a drive through the scenic Ziz Valley, and visits to the traditional market in Rissani and the fossil-rich town of Erfoud.
Experience the breathtaking Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you’ll ride camels and spend the night in a luxury camp, enjoying magical sunsets and sunrises. The adventure continues with visits to the stunning Todra Gorges and Dades Gorges, as well as the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
You’ll cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass before concluding your tour in the vibrant city of Marrakech.
Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca – Explore the City
Start your 5-day Morocco tour with a convenient pick-up from the airport, port, or your accommodation in Casablanca, the economic center and largest city in Morocco. Begin by visiting the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, perched on the city’s west coast overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy free time for lunch before exploring the vibrant city and the stunning Corniche of Casablanca. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 2: Casablanca – Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, depart from Casablanca to explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well-preserved mosaics, pillars, and archways. Stroll through the ruins before driving 30 km to Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Visit key sites such as Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Continue to Fes for an overnight stay in a Riad.
Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara
After breakfast, drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, known for its cool climate and alpine-style architecture, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques. Interact with these playful creatures as you wander through the forest.
Proceed to Midelt for lunch before heading through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the scenic Ziz Valley, making stops for panoramic views. In the afternoon, arrive in the Merzouga Sahara Desert. Embark on a camel trek across the sandy dunes, pausing atop a high dune to enjoy the sunset. Continue to a luxury desert camp, where traditional nomadic tents meet modern comforts. Enjoy Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under a starlit sky. Dinner and overnight stay in the camp.
Day 4: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise in the desert before enjoying breakfast. Return by camel to Merzouga, where your driver awaits. Depart the desert to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a vibrant trading center.
After exploring the Rissani souk, continue to Erfoud to visit a fossilized marble workshop. Drive through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves to reach the stunning Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a magnificent red cliff-sided canyon. Explore the gorges and appreciate the landscape before having lunch in a local restaurant.
Proceed to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping to admire the unique “monkey fingers” rock formations and take in the panoramic view of the valley. Dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 5: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura Palm Groves – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast, continue your journey to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival in May. Discover local rose products before driving through the palm groves of Skoura to reach Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Visit renowned film studios where many famous movies were filmed.
Travel to the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village and UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in films like Gladiator, Alexander, The Mummy, and the TV series Game of Thrones. Continue to Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the majestic High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch and photo opportunities along the way. Finally, arrive in Marrakech and drop off at the airport or your accommodation, marking the end of your 5-day Morocco tour.
