9-Day Morocco Tour from Casablanca. During these 9 days and 8 nights, you will visit many fantastic places. It will be a private tour with a private driver speaking English. The trip starts with a pick-up from the airport or your hotel in Casablanca. Tour in Casablanca, then Rabat, the capital of Morocco, Chefchaouen, the blue pearl, and also the Roman ruins of Volubilis. As well as visiting Meknes, the Ismaili capital, Fes, the cultural city, and the Switzerland of Morocco, Ifrane. Then we drive south visiting the Cedar Forest, Midelt, drive along the amazing Ziz Valley, and stop at Erfoud, the fossils town, and Rissani traditional market.

And most importantly the Sahara Desert of Merzouga, where you can ride camels and spend the night in a luxury camp in the middle of the desert. Enjoy magical sunset and sunrise in the Sahara. Thereafter, walk in the magnificent Todra and Dades Gorges. Visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Cross the High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Then roam Marrakech with a local guide. Finally, the tour ends in Casablanca.

ITINERARY : Explore Morocco in 9 Days: Itinerary from Casablanca

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

The 9-day Morocco tour begins with a pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Casablanca, Morocco’s largest city and economic center. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, perched on the west coast overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy free time for lunch before exploring the city, including the stunning Corniche of Casablanca, Rick’s Café, and Mohamed V Square (Pigeons Square). Depending on your arrival time, some stops may be postponed to the next day. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen (6 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, drive along the coastline to Rabat, one of Morocco’s imperial cities and the current capital. Visit the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. After lunch, head north through Ouazzane and the Rif Mountains to reach the Blue City of Chefchaouen, famous for its white and blue-painted buildings and alleyways. Overnight stay in a Riad.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes (4 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, explore the charming alleyways of Chefchaouen. Then, drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautiful mosaics and ancient structures. After exploring the ruins, drive 30 km to Meknes, known as the Ismaili capital and an imperial city. Visit Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, the Royal Stables, the Granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Continue to Fes for an overnight stay in a Riad.

Day 4: Guided Tour of Fes (30 min Drive / 2 to 3 Hours Walking Tour)

After breakfast, explore the highlights of Fes with a local guide. Fes is an imperial city and Morocco’s cultural and religious center. Meet your guide and start at the Royal Palace gate, then drive through the Jewish quarter, known as “the Mellah.” Enjoy panoramic views of Fes from an ancient fortress. Enter the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Blue Gate or Bab Boujloud, the entrance to the Medina, with your guide. Explore the Bouanania Madrasa, the Najjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest university. Meet your driver in the afternoon and return to your Riad. Free afternoon.

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara (7 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, drive south through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, famous for its alpine-style architecture and known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Continue to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques. Enjoy feeding them as you explore. Proceed to Midelt for lunch, then drive to Merzouga through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views. In the afternoon, arrive in the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Ride camels across the vast sand dunes, stopping atop a dune to enjoy the sunset. Arrive at a luxury desert camp where traditional nomadic tents meet modern comforts. Enjoy Berber drum music and dance under the stars. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 6: Merzouga Sahara – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley (4 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, leave the desert to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, with a lively souk open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After exploring Rissani Souk, continue to Erfoud to visit a fossilized marble workshop. Drive through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves to reach the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a dramatic red cliff-sided canyon, perfect for rock climbers. Wander in the gorges and enjoy the landscape. After lunch in a restaurant, continue to the Dades Valley via Boumalne Dades, stopping to see the “monkey fingers” rock formations and enjoy views of the valley. Dinner and overnight in a hotel.

Day 7: Dades Valley – Rose Valley – Skoura Palm Groves – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech (6 Hours Drive)

After breakfast, continue to Kalaa Magouna to explore the Rose Valley, known for its annual Rose Festival in May. Discover local rose products. Drive through the Skoura palm groves to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Visit the Atlas Studios, where many famous movies were filmed. Head to the iconic Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featured in many movies and TV shows. Take a 20-minute hike to the Kasbah, then continue to Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains, stopping for lunch and photos. Overnight stay in a Riad in Marrakech.

Day 8: Guided Tour of Marrakech (30 min Drive / 3 Hours Walking Tour)

After breakfast, explore the highlights of Marrakech, the Red City, with a local guide. Marrakech is one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. Visit the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, and stroll through the largest traditional souk in Morocco. Enjoy free time for lunch near Jemaa El-Fna square. Later, visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech, and the Majorelle Garden. Transfer to your accommodation and feel free to wander Jemaa El-Fna on your own.

Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca (2.5 Hours Drive)

On the final day of the tour, depending on your flight time, you may have free time in Marrakech. Then drive north to Casablanca Airport, marking the end of your 9-day trip. It is possible to end the tour in Marrakech or shorten or extend your tour.
