ITINERARY : 2 DAYS TOUR FROM FES TO MERZOUGA

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Sahara

Your two-day Morocco Sahara desert tour begins with an early pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. We head south through Imouzzer, stopping in Ifrane, known for its low temperatures, snow, and alpine-style houses, earning it the nickname “Switzerland of Morocco.” Next, we visit the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques, where you can feed them as you wander through the woods.

Our journey continues to Midelt, where lunch will be served. We then head to the Sahara Desert, traveling through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz River. By afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. Here, you’ll switch to camels to cross the sandy desert, with a stop to enjoy the magical sunset atop a high dune. You’ll then continue to the desert camp, where you can enjoy Berber drum music while dancing around the campfire under a vast, starlit sky. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Ziz Valley – Ifrane – Fes

Wake up early to witness the beautiful sunrise in the heart of the desert. After some free time for breakfast, you’ll return to Merzouga on camels, where your driver will be waiting. We then leave the desert to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, which remains a major trading center in the region, with a bustling souk open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After exploring Rissani’s souk, we’ll continue to Erfoud to visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble.

We drive along the Ziz River, stopping for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley, and then travel through the Cedar Forest and Ifrane to reach Fes. Finally, we’ll drop you off at the airport or your accommodation, marking the end of the tour.
